This equipment is intended to determine the resistance of polymeric material to cut growth during repeated flexing. The method is applicable to all types of flexible sheet materials.
The model EL-10F with cold chamber allows to perform tests below ambient temperature till -25°C (standard) or -30°C (on request).
To perform the test rectangular specimens of the material are either cut from a sheet or a moulded component or are specially moulded for the test.
A narrow cut is made though the full thickness of the specimen in the centre of its width. The specimen is then repeatedly flexed at the cut position, through 90 degrees at a speed at 60 flexes per minute, until the length of the cut has grown to a predetermined length.
