This equipment is intended for determining the heat resistance of patent leather; the test method is applicable to patent leathers for all uses.
During the test, a circular specimen of the material is clamped round its edge and is gradually distended by forcing a small metal attached to a plunger through the specimen. After being distended 7,5 mm and before next step, an examination should be made and any damage should be recorded.
As last step, a hot blower, which air has a pre-set level of temperature (100 or 125°C) is positioned over the sample during a time (180 or 300 s). After elapsed and with sample still distended, is made an examination and any damage recorded.
This machine is fitted with individual time and temperature controllers, so it is possible to set the required values for the test.
