This test equipment is intended to:
A) Assess the stiffness in the longitudinal direction of steel shanks used for reinforcement of the waist region of women’s shoes and some men’s and children’s shoes. The stiffness in the longitudinal direction of shanks is assessed by measuring the deflection of the shank under specified conditions when loaded with a specified force.
B) Assess the stiffness in the longitudinal direction of insole backparts used for all types of footwear, including plastic backparts with or without shank and fibre board backparts reinforced with a shank.
C) Assess the torsional stiffness of insole backparts in way to simulate the twisting of the shoe that may occur in wear. This test is used for all types of insole backparts, including plastic backparts with or without shank and fibre board reinforced with a shank.
