These films are generally interposed between the felt and the skin in embossing by hydraulic embossing machines.
Types
“Polilux”: It is a special polypropylene transparent film, one side expressely treated for tannery, 0,035 mm thick (35 microns – the most used); see table. It is employed to keep moist the felt in some types of embossing.
