This equipment is intended to determine the thermal conductivity of uppers, lining and insocks irrespective of the material, in order to assess the suitability for end use.
The equipment comprises a constant heat source sandwiched between two similiar metal cylinders which are mounted with their axes vertical and accurate temperature meters.
To carry out the test a specimen is installed on the top surface of the upper cylinder and a third metal cylinder is placed on top of the specimen in order that all the cylinders are vertically aligned. The heat source will provide a standard temperature, the temperatures of the three blocks must reach equilibrium.
Thermal conductivity of the specimen will be determined from the temperatures of the three blocks, the exposed surface areas of the blocks and test specimen and also the thickness of the specimen. This equipment is controlled though HMI touchscreen console and enables export saved data to USB flash drive.
