This test equipment assesses the cold insulating properties of the sole complex of protective footwear. The test piece (whole shoe) after properly prepared and conditioned is placed inside the cold chamber at a stabilized temperature of – 17° C and more concretely over a laboratory jack that allows to adjust the position in height. A suitable test probe is installed inside the footwear and linked to a digital thermometer, allowing real-time temperature readings of the temperature inside the test piece. The temperature is registered for a printer in intervals of 5 minutes since the beginning of the test and during a period of total time of 30 minutes. At the end of the test is calculated the decrease in temperature to the nearest 0,5° C.
