Designed to assess the heat resistance of patent leather according to the DIN 13540 and IUP38 standards.
The specimen is first perforated (according to a pre-defined pattern) and then clamped tight. The machine will pneumatically push a ball (diameter 21 mm) 7.7 mm deep into the sample (equal to 20% linear distension). Subsequently, the specimen is exposed to heat (180 sec at 100°C or 300 sec at 125°) and then examined for cracks.
