Device for determination of the shrinkage temperature according to IUP/16 – EN ISO 3380.
This device can be used for all kind of leather where the shrinkage temperature is below 100°C.
The glass beaker is filled with distilled water, so that the test strip is completely submerged. Subsequently the water slowly heated by means of a magnetic stirrer with heating device.
The contracting hide or leather strip transmits its motion to an indication system which is sensitive to tension. The temperature when the pointer starts to move is to be read as the shrinkage temperature.
